“Fantastic Christmas & New Year”

Brilliant friendly family atmosphere welcomed me on my first Christmas since death of my mother with whom I have spent the last 20 Christmasses. Cober made it really special with superb food, great activities organised by Chris & Ann who kept me interested the whole time if only to see how long Chris's reindeer costume lasted. The Carol singing and later, the Salvation Army band with 3 generations of the same families gathered to listen was a great reminder of what Christmas is really about. New Year was just as good but Chris & Ann ran it at a slightly faster pace. Again the food and entertainment were first class, the accommodation is clean, comfortable & I had everything I needed. The Office Staff & Manageress are brilliant, helpfull and very friendly whilst being true proffessionals, A hotel not to be missed and a great place to have the whole family for Christmas & New year with no cooking or washing up. Home away from home but better.

“A very special place.”

I have been holidaying at Cober Hill for over 30 years and my family for approximately 70 years! I always go for the second week of the summer season and try to holiday for the Christmas break too if we can. The holiday weeks are always fun, with great hosts, lots of activities, never a dull moment. If you don't want to join in with the activities, then you can cycle along the old railway tracks or spend the day walking in the beautiful North Yorkshire country side or simply pop out for a bite to eat at some of the local pubs or tea rooms in the local area.
The food is always plentiful and of good quality, the rooms are clean, beds comfy and many of the rooms have stunning views out to sea.
I do feel that I am part of the 'Cober Hill' family and the staff are friendly, welcoming and always helpful.
I will still be staying here (as will most of my friends) when I am racing about on my zimmer frame!

“Summer starts here!”

've been holidaying at Cober Hill for over 30 years-traditionally the first or second week of shipyard fortnight as a child with my parents then varying times through the whole of the year as I got older. It's quaint, quirky, relaxed and the staff are fab! Food is wholesome, filling and plenty of it-you are welcomed not as a guest but as part of the Cober "family". I now holiday there with my son, with friends that I have met at cober over the years and their children too! Feels like it's gone full circle-so much to do in the summer if you want to, or a fantastic base to explore from. Love it, love it, love it-what more can I say? Oh yeah, a great village pub within wandering distance too!

“Cober Hill”

I too have stayed at Cober Hill annually for a number of years and always look forward to returning, will be there at the end of September with the FSA, an art group who have annual holidays there. Such a lovely peaceful place, with fine gardens and an easy walk to the sea. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the food excellent

“A perfect venue for interest group holidays.”

I have been to this venue on a number of occasions for an artists' painting group holiday. It is a perfect venue. We have a light airy studio opening onto a terrace with a kitchen for making our own tea and coffee etc. the views are magnificent. There are beautiful gardens and grounds.. Food is really excellent, well cooked plenty of choice and delicious. Full board - breakfast, packed lunches and evening meal. Rooms are clean and well appointed although fairly basic - there is no room telephone or TV, although there is a TV lounge in the hotel.
The staff are wonderful - so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
A bus runs into Scarborough town centre every half hour from the hotel gate.
